Colors of our Soul cover + gen. updates
Hi everyone!
It’s been a bit since I last did a blogpost, so I just wanted to keep everyone informed in what’s going on.
Mostly, I’ve just been really busy with writing and prepping for my move for grad school! Did I mention I got into grad school? I think I did, but in case I didn’t, I GOT INTO GRAD SCHOOL!! I’ll be going to a very welcoming program so I can take my writing to the next level and hopefully do some original fic alongside my fanfic (I’ve fully accepted I’m probably stuck in this boat for a while yet). The opportunity being handed to me is very, very privileged, and I want to make the most out of it.
Anyway, I’ll be moving sometime in late July, and it’s a cross country move, so I’ve been getting all that ready, plus doing the usual saying goodbye to all my friends here and getting in as much hangouts with them as I can.
However, I HAVE been writing a TON.
Last month I killed myself writing the Creachurity sequel, The Knight, which I would call a complete hell of an experience if writing the ending hadn’t felt like the biggest high I’ve been on since maybe writing the end of TEK, lmao. It was a very challenging experience, but I’m very certain that Knight is probably one of the best things I’ve written in my life. Very, very proud of it.
I’ve also been very hard at work with the Colors of the Soul remake! I recently had to re-remake it (lol) because eight chapters in, I realized Twilight was just NOT RIGHT, and the story was NOT RIGHT, so after a brief period of mourning 48k words, I went back to the start. The direction is much better now, and it feels better, so I’m hoping it’ll be easier to write.
Here’s the kickass cover art, by the way that isa did.

Unfortunately, several friends have converted me to the finish-the-entire-thing-before-posting-ways so, TO MY DEEP DESPAIR, Colors’ chapters are unfortunately currently locked behind kofi until it’s done. I’ve been going back and rewriting chapters and retooling them all the time, and as much as I want to share this, I don’t want to publish a chapter and then come back weeks later, change it, and be like “HEY GUYS MAKE SURE U REREAD OK THANKS”.
I’ve also quietly accepted that the same probably has to be done for TEra. TEra has been quiet because, honestly, I’ve been avoiding the hell out of it because it’s on such a “this needs to be perfect” pedestal that I just… it didn’t feel mine anymore. On top of that, I have been dealing with the repercussions of writing TEL and TEK with a clear view of what they had to be, but with only a very vibes based idea on what TEra had to be. This now means that I’m having to confront the fact that I made a lot of dubious choices in both TEL and TEK that cornered me into places I’m now having to figure out how to get out of.
But we stay silly…
Anyway, yeah! Lots of things are happening, and lots of things will be happening. I’m excited to share the original works I do during grad school as well, and if all goes well, my thesis project is going to be the original version of Crimson Lips. Our beloved Crimson is going to be completely ripped to shreds and retooled and changed, and I’m very excited about it.
Thank you as always to everyone still hanging around! <3
Mwaaa!
Mono
Congratz on making it into grad school!!
thank you!!! it’s been really busy but i am very excited…
As someone who also went to grad school for 7 years (microbiology for me!), I absolutely get it being busy lmao. Also absolutely worth it, though, and being excited for it always helps!
Congrats on getting into grad school!! and best of luck with moving 😀
That we do.
