It was a bright sunny day when the funeral was canceled. From across the kingdom, as soon as they’d gotten the news, scholars had come to bid farewell to one of the grand library’s two custodians. A snaggle-toothed middle-aged earth pony mare with an uncanny knack for knowing exactly what book you’d like, Turnover had lovingly taken care of Canterlot Castle’s library alongside her husband, Oakewood, a unicorn stallion known for failing to uphold the no-chatter-and-shenanigans rule he…- 8.7 K • Completed
It was on our sixth meeting that Twilight Sparkle did the impossible. “It’s not fair!” Sweetie Belle’s voice echoed in the lobby, the pout on her face doing a fantastic job at making her look like a chipmunk. I’d have noted how endearing it was if I was not busy pouting myself. “Sweetie Belle, honestly!” I whispered urgently, smiling briefly at the curious security guard before glaring at my sister. “Stop arguing, will you?” “No!” she protested, ignoring me when I gestured…- 119.3 K • Completed
- Twilight Sparkle once told me, I don’t remember when or where, that every essay she did went through at least four drafts. I remember laughing at that. Four drafts? What effort! I only ever go through one or two designs for my dresses; maybe three if I’m feeling particularly perfectionist. Well. I understand her now as I sit here after having gone through more versions of this tale than I would like to admit. Isn’t it ever so frustrating when things don’t work out the first time around?…

- But let us move away from Shimmer Glass and my dearly beloved, watching this nearly-naked woman. Let us move away from that until the time is right, and go instead to a different time and a different place. A bridge. There we were, Twilight and I, leaning against the bridge filled with rusty locks and forgotten promises, a ritual she and I had yet to partake in. There we were, our hands dangling over both the edge and our future, and there I was, consumed by the thought that the moment would be…

“Rarity, we’ve been friends for many years, have we not?” She laughed. “Three weeks hardly qualifies as many years, my dear.” He grinned. “Ah, but is time not relative? For our wonderful friendship, maybe not! But.” He frowned. “For you and Princess Twilight, I’d imagine these three weeks have felt eternal.” The warmth in her expression vanished. Quickly. “...What are you saying, North Ridge?” “I’m saying it seems you’ve taken to old bad habits. Remind me, how…- 231.2 K • Completed
- In her entire life thus far, Twilight Sparkle’s heart had twice been crushed by a girl she loved. When Twilight Sparkle was a young girl, she had a friend called Sunset Shimmer. A brilliant, talented child with a personality as fiery as her hair. Sounds familiar, no? Our dear mage has a type. From ages eight to fifteen, Twilight and Sunset were inseparable. Their every day, every thought, every moment interwoven and dependent on each other like the sun was to the moon. It is important to note,…

An eternity seemed to pass by for Rarity as she and the princess engaged in an impromptu staring contest, the little owl looking back and forth between the two mares. “Are you the Book Bringer?” the princess asked, receiving no answer from the shocked unicorn. Things were not going the way Rarity had imagined they would. Granted, she had never actually planned on meeting the spirit of an Equestrian princess, but she would have expected more… screaming and soul-banishing. At least she could…- 352.1 K • Completed
A zebra, a stallion, and a manticore walked into a bar. The bar in question went by the name of Torramund and could be found in the small town bordering Eventide Isle. The decrepit yet inviting establishment had been home to many a drunkard throughout the years, and its elderly bartender had heard more secrets and confessions than most priests had in their entire lifetimes. The bartender, Tundra Leaf, was of zebra origins. Though she was born in Equestria, she had lived in the Undiscovered West most…- 2.1 K • Oneshot
