The Fairy in the Garden
Once upon a time, a gray Sunday afternoon, a little girl visited Lady Celestia’s gardens. “One hour,” her mother had said, giving the girl a meaningful look. “One hour. The gardens close at six.” And in that hour, the girl made the mansion her castle, and the gardens her forest. The maze of hedges, she decided as she walked through them, were the Lost Labyrinth of Mirceille, where many brave soldiers had fought terrible beasts. Not all of them had survived, unfortunately, though she went…- 119.3 K • Completed

Twilight Sparkle had never been to the Sapphire Carousel before. In fact, to be precise, she’d only ever been to the Lunar District once: the day she came to my boutique to see me. Ever since she’d found out about Lady Luna’s establishment, as far back as that delightful dinner with Fluttershy and her mother, she’d never dared venture and see the place for herself. It had always felt… not dangerous, no, but forbidden. A place she could know about, but like any proper and decent individual,…- 119.3 K • Completed

Monoceros
constellationnoun | con·stel·la·tion | \kän(t)-stə-ˈlā-shən\1. A group of stars forming a recognizable pattern that is traditionally named after its apparent form or identified with a mythological figure. Everyone else had gone up to their hotel rooms by the time Rarity had finished the drawing. They’d come outside, engaged the couple in conversation, and then excused themselves with the warning for the two women not to stay up for too long. It was entrancing to see Rarity sketch,…- 7.7 K • Completed

The Woman
Dear friend. It has been a while, hasn’t it? Not for you, I imagine, for you know everything that ever was and ever will be, and yet… And yet here I am, telling you my story as if you don’t know it already. Then again, I suppose this is the nature of storytelling, isn’t it? Every story told we already know, yet we still yearn to hear it again and again, each time freshened up with a different coat of paint. But you seem upset, today, dear friend. I wonder why. Is it because I directly…- 119.3 K • Completed

The Art of Polite Conversation
Twilight Sparkle once told me, I don’t remember when or where, that every essay she did went through at least four drafts. I remember laughing at that. Four drafts? What effort! I only ever go through one or two designs for my dresses; maybe three if I’m feeling particularly perfectionist. Well. I understand her now as I sit here after having gone through more versions of this tale than I would like to admit. Isn’t it ever so frustrating when things don’t work out the first time around?…- 119.3 K • Completed

Obituaries, darling, obituaries.
Twilight Sparkle. How does… How does one describe Twilight Sparkle? How can one truly and sincerely hope to capture on paper a pony as interesting as she? I never knew how to do so in life, and now in death, I still don’t. But I shall try. I am dead, I should say. It admittedly slipped my mind to establish this rather vital fact, but if you have lived a life as long as mine, then you’ve learned a few things, including the fact that details hardly matter in the grand scheme of things. Details…- 1.3 K • Oneshot
